Studio Teatar from Zenica was founded in 2017 with the aim of affirming and popularizing theatrical art through the production of various, primarily theatrical, and other cultural and artistic content. In less than four years of its work, Studio Teatar has become a recognizable name both on the Bosnian theater scene and beyond.
Several hundred members and sympathizers, as well as dozens of successfully implemented projects, are proof of quality and persistent work of this organization.
Studio Teatar is focused primarily on theatrical art, production of plays and performances, organization of festivals, art workshops and related activities.
The projects realized by Studio Teatar that stand out in terms of their extent and importance include:
“Theater, the right of every child” – within this project, theater show The boy who does not want to grow up was performed in 60 schools located in rural areas of BiH, making it a unique opportunity for a large number of pupils to see a professional theater performance for the first time.
“Youth in the Period of the CoronaVirus”- theater production for the young.
“Summer Evenings of Studio Theater” International Theater Festival – a non-competitive theater festival that celebrates its fifth birthday in 2021. The specificity of this festival is that all activities are held outdoor, under the open sky, on a summer stage in the center of Zenica. With its international character, this is the only festival of this type in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
Studio Teatar is currently working on the production of the documentary-fiction series “Once Upon a Time” („Bio jednom jedan“). The first season of six episodes began airing in late 2020. The series follows famous historical figures who marked a certain epoch or space in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
Nusmir Muharemović graduated from Academy of Dramatic Arts in Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina in the class of professor Miralem Zupčević. He is the General Manager of Studio Teatar and the Organizer and Manager of the International Theatre Festival Ljetne večeri Studio Teatra/ Summer nights of Studio Teatar. He is currently employed at the Bosnian National Theatre Zenica. So far, he has performed over fifty roles in theatre and on film. He has worked with some of the best regional directors, such as Dino Mustafić, Jasmila Žbanić, Haris Pašović, Selma Spahić, Boban Skerlić, Petar Kaukov, Lajla Kaikčija, Nina Nikolik and others. He was also a member of EAST-WEST Theatre Company from Sarajevo, founded by Haris Pašović.
Since now, he has won numerous awards and acknowledgements – Best acting realization Award at Theatre plays festival in Jajce, BH, Special Audience Award and Best Actor Audience Award at the Festival of BH Drama in Zenica, Best Young Actor Award at Theatre Meetings in Brčko, BH, Best Actor Award at Actors’ Festival in Konjic, Bosnia and Herzegovina Actor Of The Year Award for 2019.
Igda Jarić graduated from the Cultural Studies department of the Faculty of Philosophy in Zenica in 2018. Since 2019, she has been working as a Stage Manager, Organizer and Production Assistant in Bosnian National Theater Zenica. Within the institution, she actively took part in numerous projects, festivals and events – some of them international productions, such as Othello by William Sakespeare, a co-production between BNP Zenica, Macedonian National Theatre and Peripetija Production Skopje.
So far, she has also worked on the following projects: International Festival of High School Theatre JUVENTAFEST, as Team Coordinator (2015 – 2018) and Location Manager on the short documentary movieHow to describe a town? (2020).
Currently, she is MA student of Human Resource Management and Knowledge Management at the University of Sarajevo, School of Economics and Business – a joint Master program with the Faculty of Economics and Business, University of Zagreb. In 2018, she was part of Erasmus+ Youth Exchange project Beeing in, in Ljubljana. As amateur she had attended the Children’s Acting Studio of the Bosnian National Theater Zenica
She is an active member of Studio Teatar.
Mirza Begović graduated from the department of Bosnian/Croatian/Serbian Language and Literature at the Faculty of Philosophy in Zenica. His MA thesis covered the topic Typological characters in contemporary Bosnian dramatic discourse. He is employed as a teacher of Bosnian language and literature at the Kaćuni Elementary School and he is an active member of the Studio Teatar team. During his rich professional career he has been working as a PR and Event Manager at the Multiplex Ekran Zenica (2018 – 2020) and as a Project and PR Manager in the Regional Development Agency – REZ Zenica, where he took part in multiple project supported by the EU (2017 – 2018).
As a writer Begović published two novels: Don’t go now (2014), and Chicken in a circus (2016). He has also realized the following amateur projects as a screenwriter and director:amateur feature films “Line”, “In Delusion”, “Labyrinth”, and the short film “Homeland”., as well as the pilot episode for the comedy series Accidental Crib. He is actively involved in all projects of the Studio Teatar, and he was hired as the project coordinator and PR within the festival “Summer nights of the Studio Teatar”.
Tamara Miličević – Stilićis 23 years old and she was born and raised in Zenica, Bosnia and Herzegovina. She attended Kids Acting Studio for 12 years before college. After that she graduated from Academy of Dramatic Arts in Tuzla, Bosnia and Herzegovina.
As an amateur she participated in over fifteen plays for kids in her hometown. They’ve been at several festivals and she received three awards for the best actress and one for the best vocal abilities. Also, she took dancing lessons for five years.
Later, she had three roles in professional plays in Zenica (“Hannah and Hanna”, “Othello”, “The Cripple of Inishmaan”) and three in Tuzla (“The Drunken Night”, “The Monkeys are coming”, “Charley’s Aunt”). One of them was an international co-production with Macedonia ( “Othello” by William Shakespeare). Over the past three years she has been working with directors from Bosnia (Miroljub Mijatović, Gradimir Gojer), Croatia (Nina Kleflin), Serbia (Predrag Štrbac) and Macedonia (Nina Nikolikj).
She is currently employed at the Bosnian National Theatre in Zenica, and also she’s a member of Studio Theatre’s team.
Adis Kriko is a student at the department of Cultural Studies of the Faculty of Philosophy in Zenica.
He has been active in the NGO sector since 2010. like Association Margina, INPUT, MIZ Zenica.
Since 2018 he has been an active member of the Studio Teatar team. He has been part of the following activities: Young at the time of the crown, Summer Nights of the Studio Teatar in 2018. and 2019.
He is Volunteer team leader in Studio Teatar.
